WHAT IS LASER THERAPY?
Laser therapy, especially red light therapy has been receiving a lot of hype lately. But what is it exactly? And how does it help? We're so glad you asked!
What's in a Name?
Laser therapy goes by a few different names: cold laser therapy, low-level-light therapy (LLLT). But experts find it more accurate to call laser therapy, photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT).
Basically, laser therapy uses a combination of red light and near infrared light therapy to interact with photoreceptors to produce photochemical reactions that have a positive effect on cellular metabolism.
Who Cares?
Well, we do. And we'll tell you why you should as well! Laser therapy penetrates deep into tissue, whether it's bone, muscle or ligaments to effect a real and beneficial change, namely decreasing inflammation and increasing healing.
This is why, we at lux wellness love using it in combination with other therapies to aid in the healing of conditions that are ailing your body.
And it's part of why we named ourselves lux, because it is using light therapy (lux is the latin word for light!) to break down scar tissue and increase blood flow to an area that is otherwise stunted by stress.
At lux wellness we use the BEST and that means the Bioflex Laser. It has been developed, tested and tried and found to be one of the top laser therapies on the market.
Below is a few things this laser does to increase healing in our bodies:

We use laser therapy to deal with things like:
Muscle sprains and tears
Ligament strains
Degenerative joint disease like osteoarthritis
Faster healing of fractures
Conditions such as:
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Tennis elbow
Rotator Cuff Tears
Neck and Low Back Pain
Migraines
Come and experience the difference that laser can give you with one of our certified and experienced laser technicians, Serge (our wonderful massage therapist) or Dr. Christine (our amazing chiropractor).
